Pricing is based on vehicle type and whether you're booking a one-way or return trip. For a one-way transfer to Johor Bahru, rates start from S$130 for a Toyota Innova (7-seater), S$190 for a Toyota Vellfire/Alphard (7/8-seater), and S$220 for a Hyundai Starex (11-seater). Return trips are also available. All prices are per vehicle, not per passenger, and include tolls and checkpoint fees with no hidden charges. You will be dropped off directly at your destination. Previously, cross-border taxis were restricted to designated terminals such as Larkin Sentral in Johor and Ban San Street in Singapore. From 4th May 2026, licensed cross-border taxis are permitted to drop passengers off anywhere within Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri, Forest City, Kulai, and Senai. So whether you're heading to a hotel, a mall, a residential address, or an attraction, your driver will take you straight there. No terminal stops, no extra transfers needed.

Under normal traffic conditions, the journey from Singapore to Johor Bahru typically takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on which checkpoint is used and the time of day. There are two land crossings: the Woodlands Causeway and the Tuas Second Link. Your driver will choose the most efficient route based on real-time traffic at the time of travel. Peak hours, weekends, and public holidays can significantly extend crossing times at both checkpoints. If you have a time-sensitive commitment in JB, we recommend building in extra buffer time and discussing your schedule with us when booking.

From April 2026, Grab was awarded a licence to operate cross-border rides between Singapore and JB. This is a metered, app-based service for individuals or small groups using standard sedan-sized vehicles. Our service differs in a few important ways: we operate larger MPVs suitable for families, groups, and passengers with luggage; pricing is fixed per vehicle with no surge pricing; we cover a much wider range of destinations beyond JB, including Desaru, Mersing, Malacca, KL, and more; and our drivers are specifically experienced in cross-border immigration procedures. For straightforward solo or duo trips into JB city, Grab is a legitimate new option. For groups, families, airport transfers, or longer-distance trips, a private MPV booking gives you more space, more certainty on price, and door-to-door service.

The Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link is a cross-border train connecting Woodlands North in Singapore to Bukit Chagar in JB, with a journey time of about five minutes. It is targeted to begin passenger service by December 2026. For commuters making frequent solo trips between the two city centres, the RTS will be a fast and affordable option. However, it is not a door-to-door service, so you still need to get to and from the stations on both ends. For families travelling with children and luggage, groups heading to destinations outside JB city, or anyone requiring a direct pickup from home or hotel, a private taxi remains the more practical choice. The two services are complementary rather than competing.

No visa is required for Singapore passport holders to enter Malaysia. You will need a valid Singapore passport and will clear both Singapore exit and Malaysian entry immigration at the respective checkpoints as part of the journey.
